Highlighting Youth Role Models
The Search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) initiated in 2002 by Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who noted that there were very few awards that acknowledged the contribution and the efforts of youth groups and organizations.
TAYO has emerged to be the country’s foremost award for youth organizations. It is given annually to ten outstanding Filipino youth clubs that have undertaken a recent project or program that has benefited a local community to which they belong.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan has partnered with the ABS-CBN Foundation and the Department of Education in providing quality-learning materials for public elementary students nationwide through the Educational Television or “ETV” Project. The ETV Project aims to upgrade educational infrastructure in public schools through the effective utilization of Multimedia-Assisted Instructional materials. Among these materials are top international award-winning shows Hirayamanawari (Values Education), MathTinik (Math), Bayani (Philippine History), Apple/Epol (Language and Reading) and Sineskwela (Science).
Despite the many hurdles that we face as a nation, the resilient Filipino spirit will push on to spark innovation and inspiration. Promoting Regional Opportunities for Enterprise and Livelihood Development (PROPEL) is a breathing example of how the Filipino talent, if given the right guidance and support, can defy any challenge that comes its way.
The Office of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, ensuring that its special projects are executed under the template of private-public sector partnerships, has been loyal to the cause of the housing project Gawad Kalinga (GK).
